“Being a part of the Hearst competition was an amazing experience I will never forget. After my assignment was completed, I can honestly say that I was happy with my final product. My report was a synthesis of my education and training, hard work, and old fashioned good luck. Even if I hadn’t won, I knew I had put forth my best effort. Now that I have graduated and entered the “real world,” the Hearst competition helped me re-affirm that broadcast journalism is what I want to do with my life. I left San Francisco with new friends, tons of memories, and the confidence to take on whatever life hands me.”
